Much of my education is an ongoing thing. I am an avid student of
many sciences and technology. I have an extremely broad base of
knowledge. More valuable is the ability to recall that knowledge
and apply it to new situations.
My first two years of college were in electrical engineering. I
changed to animal science for two reasons. First my family has
been involved in ranching and cattle since their arrival in this
country in the late 1700's. Two parents, a grand mother and a
great-grandmother can bring considerable pressure to bear on a
college sophomore. The second reason was the money. I had been
running cattle since I was 14 and they were making me more money
than many of my tenured professors were making. If foresight was
as good as hind sight I would never have changed form Electrical
Engineering.
I received a BS in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University
in 1967.
